When Jesus contrasted himself with the devil, he said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came so that they may have life and have it abundantly." {John 10:10} 

This abundant life that Jesus spoke of is what we're after - we can REJOICE in the abundant goodness and power and mercy of our Father God. When we are confronted with evil and confusion and cruelty, we can KNOW where to find God's overflowing and bounteous blessings that we are promised as His children.
